onur çiftci

karete kid were a punk rock band from turkey. the band was active between 2007-2009. its members were songül arslan (bass & vocals), göktuğ çalışkan (drums), kerim günal tüzün (guitars) and onur çiftci (vocals & lyrics).  except for kerim non of the group members had any experience with their instruments.

 

karate kid recorded fourteen songs in two homemade demos "tutma elimden" (2008) and "bütün kitaplar yanacak" (2009). the band gave its only performance in 2008 at barışarock, one of the biggest music festivals in turkey.

 

with its diy demos and amateur spirit, karate kid could be considered as a group of people who adopted the punk attitude.

 

the songs "ilk insan" and "sıra dayağı" are taken from the demo "bütün kitaplar yanacak" and the rest are taken from studio performance recordings.
